Prof. Alanoud Al-Maadid
Prof.
Alanoud Al-Maadid, Ph. D., is the Head of
Qatar University's Economics and Finance Department, where she heads with the
goal of increasing the department's academic reputation and research influence
both regionally and internationally. Dr. Al-Maadid, a widely known expert in
GCC stock markets, holds a PhD in Economics and Finance from Brunel University
London. Her research focuses on critical issues such as energy economics,
climate change, behavioral finance, and the complex linkages between food and
energy pricing.Dr. Al-Maadid has acquired significant research funding, both
internal and external, including a project that examines the effect of Climate
Change on Qatar Economy through behavioural perspective contributing to the
worldwide debate on economic sustainability and diversity.She has received international
awards and recognitions, including the Emir of Qatar Award for Doctoral
Excellence in 2016 as well and the Brunel University Prize for Impact and
Innovation in Doctoral Research.
